Green Goddess Detox Smoothie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
  • 1 handful of fresh spinach leaves, stems removed
  • 1 small cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (optional)
  • Juice of half a lime or lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of honey or natural agave nectar (optional)
  • 1/2 1/2 cup of cold water or coconut water
  • Several ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Prepare all the ingredients by peeling and slicing them to a size suitable for blending.
  • Place the banana, kiwi, spinach, cucumber, ginger (if using), and lime or lemon juice in a blender.
  • Add honey or agave nectar if you'd like to add a touch of sweetness to the smoothie.
  • Pour in the cold water or coconut water.
  • Add several ice cubes to chill the smoothie and create a desirable texture.
  • Cover the blender and blend on high speed until you achieve a smooth and homogeneous texture.
  • Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness, lime/lemon juice, or ginger to your liking.
  • Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
