In a blender, combine the frozen cherries, banana, almond butter, almond milk, almond extract, honey (if using), rolled oats, and chia seeds (if using).
Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add more almond milk or water to reach your desired consistency.
Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey.
If desired, add ice cubes and blend again to chill and thicken the smoothie
Once the smoothie is well blended and the desired consistency is reached, pour into glasses.
Garnish with a few sliced almonds and fresh cherries, if desired.
